Arvie Fletcher BORDERLAND, W.Va. — Arvie Williams Fletcher, 92, of Borderland, passed away Tues., Aug. 12, 2014, in Richmond, Ky. Born Aug. 18, 1921, at Johns Creek, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Tommy Williams and Emma Whitt Williams Biliter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Josh Fletcher; a son, Roger Fletcher; a granddaughter, Angie Fletcher; her sisters, Elzie Savage, Elsie Horn, and Alvie Savage, and a brother, Elbert Williams. Arvie was a homemaker and a most loving wife, mother and grandmother. Arvie was truly one of the most amazing women you could ever meet. She would give you the clothes off her back, the food out of her cabinets, or, the money from her own purse. She loved life, her friends, family, church family, and, most of all, she loved God. No doubt we are deeply saddened because of our loss, but, she is rejoicing in Heaven. She has finished her fight, and she has kept the faith, right down to the very end. Our loss truly is Heaven's gain. Arvie is survived by her children, Robert "Big Bob" and Marie Fletcher of Abingdon, Va., Ed and Dana Fletcher of Adrian, Mich., Curtis and Margaret Fletcher and Tommy and Lena Fletcher, all of Borderland, Mattie Fletcher of Naugatuck, Janice and Pete Dillon, Richmond, Ky., Jimmy and Judy Fletcher of Fort Gay and Bobby and Tina Fletcher of Turkey Creek, Ky.; her grandchildren, Jenny Lynn Williams, Becky Collins, Eddie Ray Fletcher, Michael Fletcher and Lena Spiegel, Jarrod Fletcher, Amy Fletcher Simpkins, Daronda Fletcher, Roger Fletcher, Loren Fletcher Evans, Jennifer Romans, Brian Dillion, Christie Dillon Gooslin, Kimberly Thompson, Staci Fletcher Beckett, Joshua Fletcher, Christopher and Aaron Fletcher, and Kaeli, Canaan, Cami and Kerah Fletcher; 33 great-grandchildren and a host nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sat., Aug. 16, at Weaver Mortuary. Reverend Butch Williams will officiate. Interment is in Collins Cemetery at Dans Branch. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. There will a special service at 7:30 p.m. with Reverend Ronnie Wolford officiating. Grandson, family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
