Frank L. Saffarrans Jr., 90, of Arlington passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. Service: 1:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery; please be prompt. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home. Memorials: The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sierra Club. Frank was born in Dallas on Oct. 22, 1923. He graduated from high school in Dallas. In 1948 he received a degree from Texas A&M in electrical engineering. Frank married Doris Kendall on Nov. 28, 1946. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Frank worked for General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin for 45 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Sierra Club and Hood County Genealogy Society. Frank had a passion for rappelling, jogging, canoeing, hiking, genealogy and farming. Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Jane Johnston. Survivors: Daughters, Cynthia S. Ives and husband, Stephen, and Melissa S. LeMoine and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Morgan E. LeMoine and Maclain E. LeMoine; sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jean Wilson.
