Mark Westenhoefer
Mark L. Westenhoefer, 61, of Kempton, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Diane J. (Krumanocker) Westenhoefer. They were married Jan. 20, 1973. Born in Ephrata, he was a son of William Westenhoefer of Allentown, and the late Margaret E. (Wise) Westenhoefer. Mark was a 1970 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School and Berks Vo-Tech, where he was certified in carpentry. He was the owner and operator of Mark Westenhoefer Builders, Kutztown from 1984 until the present. Prior to that, he was employed as an assembler by Mack Truck, Inc., Allentown from 1973 until 1983.; and was formerly employed by Kutztown Foundry in their wood pattern making department. Mark also owned a horse racing business, where he was a racehorse owner from 1995 to 2011, racing at Penn National Raceway, Grantville. He was a member of The National Horsemen's Benevolence and Protective Association. Mark enjoyed fishing, horses, corvettes, traveling, and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Survivors: Wife; Father; daughter, Reena L. (Westenhoefer), wife of Christopher J. Goetz, Hamburg; son, Wesley P., husband of Jaimyn M. (Sokol) Westenhoefer, Fleetwood; sisters, Barbara Jane (Westenhoefer), wife of James K. Rossnagel, East Greenville, Marda Ann (Westenhoefer) Smith, Pennsburg; brothers, W. Bryan, husband of Judy (Brown) Westenhoefer, David R. Westenhoefer, both of Kutztown; five grandchildren, Jailyn S. Franzone, Evan M. Westenhoefer, Charleigh J. Westenhoefer, Kirra G. Goetz, Mia G. Goetz. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood, with Reverend Cheryl F. Meinschein officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Relatives and friends may call Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. The family requests contributions may be made to the Mark L.
