Loreda Hicks "Reda" Daniel
Loreda “Reda” Hicks Daniel, age 74, of Lodi, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, February 12, 2006. She was born on November 4, 1931 near Cove, Arkansas, the daughter of William Jackson Hicks and Minnie Collie Hicks. On October 15, 1949, she was married to Pierre Jean “P. J.” Daniel who preceded her in death on July 18, 1995. She was the owner and operator of Creekside Country Store in Glenwood and a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby. She is survived by her son, David Daniel of Dallas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Alan Cureton of Arbyrd, Missouri and Donna and Chris Thompson of Lodi; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Matthew, Andrew, Allison, and Phillip Cureton, and Edward and Loren Thompson; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Thompson; her mother, Minnie Hicks of Cove; four brothers, Marion Hicks of Saginaw, Texas, Melvin Hicks of Mena, Clovis Hicks of Hope and Foy Hicks of Hurst, Texas; two sisters, Evalyne Cornelious and Lorene Smalley both of Cove; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2006, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Interment will be in the Lodi Cemetery, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Guest registry is at www.davissmithfuneralhome.com.
