Lois B. Scott
LITTLE GENESEE - Lois B. Scott, 87, of Little Genesee, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 25, 2013) in Wellsville, with her husband of 61 years by her side. Lois was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Phillips, Pa. She was the daughter of Percy and Nellie Wilson. On June 25, 1952, she married Fay W. Scott, in Washington, D.C., who survives. Lois spent several years of her life working for telephone companies in Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C. and New York. She retired in 1987 from Weston's, Inc., in Olean. Her favorite time was spent playing board games with her grandchildren every opportunity she got on her many trips to Florida and Illinois. She also enjoyed many years of spoiling her beloved German Shorthaired Pointers, Doc, Bobo and Babe, and her grand-dogs, Blade Buckley and Boomer. Her hobbies included reading and crocheting and she had a daily passion for crossword puzzles. Lois was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bolivar, and a 31-year member of the Bolivar American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, survivors include one son, Jeffrey Scott of Ogden, Ill.; three grandchildren, Macey Scott of Catlin, Ill., Nichole Scott of Deltona, Fla. and Jason (Sara) Scott of DeBary, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Ross Riggs III and Jordynn Riggs of Deltona; and Evan and Noah Scott of DeBary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Glenn Wilson and Jesse Wilson; and her sister, Norma Wilson McFerrin, all of Brownsville, Pa. There will be no visitation. A memorial service and burial will be held in Danville, Ill., near the home of her son. In honor of Lois' love for animals, memorials may be made in her name to the Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main St., Urbana, IL 61802. Cards and notes to the family may be sent to her son at P.O. Box 131, Ogden, IL 61859. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar.
