CLERMONT, Fla. > > Troy M. Hastings, 24, of Lake Katherine Circle, formerly of Canastota, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Clermont from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Syracuse on Nov. 2, 1988, he was the son of Stephen F. and Penny Mantell Hastings. A resident of Florida for the past six years, Troy was raised in Canastota and was a graduate of Canastota High School, Class of 2007, where he participated on the school football team. Troy was currently attending Lake Sumter Community College in Clermont, Fla., paced to graduate in the fall of 2013. For a few years Troy was working independently with the Bimbo Baking Corporation and was employed part time with various companies while attending college. While residing in Canastota, he was a communicant of St. Agatha's Church. Troy had a great love for water sports and aviation. Surviving besides his parents, Stephen and Penny are; one brother Colby J. Hastings and his fiancée, Heather Becker of Tampa, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday from St. Agatha's Church, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be at St. Agatha's Cemetery.
