Miller native, 68 ALTO, Mich. - Eldon Warren Stevens, 68, of Alto, formerly of Miller, Neb., died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, in Alto. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harvest Baptist Church in Hudsonville with the Rev. Ryan Kooienga officiating. Burial will be at Holy Corners Cemetery in Caledonia. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, all at the church. He was born Dec. 26, 1943, in Kearney, Neb., to William and Deldee (Martin) Stevens. On June 6, 1964, he married Rose Mary Snakenberg. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years; sons, Timothy of South Bend, Ind., Andrew of Galloway, Ohio, and David Scot of Brown Summit, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Leslie Stevens and Wendell Stevens, both of Kearney, Mike Broadbent of Green Bay, Wis., Virginia Butler of Elm Creek, Neb., and Geneva Sickler of Lincoln, Neb. Eldon was a native of Miller. He was introduced to Jesus Christ and was born again at age 19. During his life, he served as a pastor and an evangelist. In 1995, he became the president of COME International Baptist Ministries and continued on in that role until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials are suggested to Harvest Baptist Church or COME International Baptist Ministries. Memorial envelopes will be available at the visitation hours.
