SHARPE, William "Bill" Malcolm Jr., passed away suddenly in Richmond on March 14, 2012. Born in Logan, West Virginia, on November 30, 1935. He was predeceased by his parents, William M. Sharpe Sr. and Ada Belle Forsythe Sharpe; and his sister, Sarah Lou Sharpe Peters. Survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Cathie Logan Sharpe; her mother, Fay Lafon Logan, of Roanoke; son, William "Chip" Malcolm Sharpe III, of Richmond; and daughter, Amy C. Sharpe Bazuzi (Samie); grandchildren, Christopher, Samira and Victoria Bazuzi, of Bettendorf, Ind.; sister, Jane Sharpe Blake, of Lewisburg, W.Va.; and numerous devoted cousins, nieces and nephews. Graduate of Marsh Fork High School, Montcoal, W.Va., and the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y., in 1957, with a B.S. in Marine Engineering. A merchant seaman and briefly a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, he had a lengthy career in sales of insurance, stocks, real estate investments and in Mechanical Engineering. A lifelong Freemason and member of Mariners Lodge #67, a lifelong amateur actor, musician, model airplane enthusiast, genealogist, and organ donor, giving until the end. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. until, at Bon Air Community Center, 8725 Quaker Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.lifenetheath.org ., or The Shriner's Hospital, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, Va. 23218.
