McDONALD, John L. (RedTie÷, 68, a resident of Tallassee, AL , native of Birmingham, AL, passed away Saturday August 1st, 2009. He is survived by two daughters:Lesley McDonald Foster(Ralph) of Montgomery, ALand Jennifer McDonald Atkins (Todd) of Montgomery,AL; two grandchildren: HunterJoseph Atkins and Lydia Alexandra Atkins; two brothers:Oscar Duane McDonald(Mary) of Gulf Shores, AL andLewis DeVale McDonald (Nadine)of Gardendale, AL;one aunt, Eilene Mikell ofWarrior, AL and one uncle,Randall Young (Joyce) ofMorris, AL; his former wife anddear friend, Janina M Skaretof Montgomery, AL; and numerous cousins, nieces andnephews. He served his country in the Coast Guard from1958-1964. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. Hewas a long time employee ofChambers Furniture of Montgomery, AL. His lifelong generosity is exemplified by hisdonating his body to University of Alabama Medical Science. A memorial service willbe held at First BaptistChurch, 305 S. Perry Street,Montgomery, AL , on TuesdayAugust 4th at 4:00 p.m. In lieuof flowers please send memorial contributions to theMontgomery Cancer Center.
