Duane Conn Fee July 5, 1928 - July 15, 2011 Resident of Walnut Creek Duane Fee, surrounded by his loving family, passed away July 15, 2011 at the age of 83. Duane was born on July 5, 1928 in Cherokee, IA to the late James and Ethel Fee. He was a graduate of Quimby High School, Iowa State University and Arizona State University. Duane married the love of his life, Carol, in 1950. He served in the Army during the Korean War. In 1957, Duane moved his family to California. He taught mathematics and science for 43 years at Acalanes High School and Diablo Valley College. Duane received presidential recognition for his excellence in teaching. He was a volunteer for the Veteran's Hospital in Martinez, CA. He will be forever remembered for his love of history, his story telling and his enjoyment of travel. Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, of 60 years; children Glen Fee (Debi) of Eugene, OR; Kelly Peterson (Gregg) of Sacramento; Linda Bailey (Robert) of Thousand Oaks; Diana Mason (Jeff) of Alamo; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who will all miss him dearly. He is also survived by his brothers Russell Fee and Keith Fee, sisters Alice Hoeppner and Ethel Warrender. A Celebration of Duane's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10:00 AM at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, 1801 Lacassie Ave., Walnut Creek with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Deacon's Fund at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church. Condolences may be expressed at www.oakparkhillschapel.com
