In memory of
Mathew, Marshall born April 25, 1992, passed away on May 15, 2011. Marshall is survived by his parents, Ivan and Susan; his sister, Abbey; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Turner; his paternal grandmother, Rachel Chandrathil; George Mathew; Tim & Regina Dill, Justin and Hannah; Eric Smith & Elisa Turner, Grant and Margaret; and his dog, Shadow. Marshall was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Kurian Chandrathil. Marshall was completing his freshman year at DePauw University, Greencastle, IN. He was a member of the 2010 conference championship DePauw football team and a treasured member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. DePauw University held a memorial service for Marshall on May 17, 2011, which highlighted his fine characteristics. Marshall attended Christ Lutheran School and graduated from Brophy College Preparatory where he was a member of the Monty Python Club, the Breakfast Club, captain of numerous intramural teams, manager of the varsity basketball team for four years and a member of the J-V football team. Marshall was a Phoenix Suns Ball Kid, where he did whatever was asked of him with a smile, from hauling mats for the Gorilla to rebounding for the NBA players, including his favorite, Steve Nash. Marshall loved everything sports: the Suns; being at some of the games in person & watching on television when the D'Backs won the World Series; all things Boston Red Sox, including Big Poppy, Fenway Park and the Green Monster; ESPN; and basketball with his friends on any court, but especially at the Camelback Village club. Marshall was a kind, caring, compassionate and witty person. Marshall's motto was, "Be great today." He will be dearly missed. The family asks that you keep him in your prayers and that you be great today and every day to honor Marshall. Memorial services for Marshall will be held at Brophy Chapel on Wednesday May 25, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brophy Community Foundation or the Christ Lutheran School Foundation.
