MOYER GORDON, March 30, 2011, at age 90. The former President and Vice Chairman of the Rorer Group passed away peacefully after hip fracture complica-tions. His success as a business executive was matched by a devotion to his family and church and civic leadership activities. Mr. Moyer received a bachelor degree and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. He served as an ensign in the Navy and became a Navy Supply School instructor at Harvard Univer-sity. Mr. Moyer worked for Rohm and Haas Co. and Fleer Corporation. He joined the Fort Washington PA company, William H. Rorer, in 1962 and was President of the Rorer Group from 1980 until 1984. He also served on the Boards of Directors of Harleysville Insurance, PQ Corporation, and Quality Biologics. In retire-ment, Mr. Moyer became an adjunct professor of accounting at Wharton for several years. He remained actively involved in University of Pennsylvania alumni activities over the course of his life and established a scholarship for undergraduates there. Mr. Moyer's community leader-ship included serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Fox Chase Cancer Center and President of the Main Line Adult Day Center. For nearly 60 years, he was a member of the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, serving as deacon, elder, and member of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Moyer is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Shirley. He will be greatly missed by his 5 children, Carol (Peter) Haldy, Dr. Nancy Moyer (Stephen Prichard), Lucy (Gregory) Dubas, Janet Moyer (Richard Widmann) and Geoffrey; brothers, Dr. Winfield "Bud", Dr. Lawrence, and Stephen; grandchildren, David (Patrice) Stilley, Catherine (Franklin) Jarman, Dr. Stephanie Haldy, Jonathan Haldy, Eric and Kira Dubas, and Daniel and Zoe Moyer; 3 great grandchildren, Vivian and Eliza Stilley and Caroline Jarman. Mr Moyer had homes in Bryn Mawr, Avalon, and Palm Beach Gardens FL. Memorial Services will be held at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, April 5, at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the U of P or Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.
