In memory of
Jerry Lee Beasley
SHELBY-Jerry Lee Beasley, 64, of 2005 Melrose Drive, departed this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his residence. He was born Jan.15, 1947, to the late Marion and Geneva Hambrick Beasley. Jerry attended Cleveland High School, where he graduated in 1965. He was a quiet and easy spoken person with a dedicated spirit to get the job done. He was always willing to do what was needed without any hesitation or complaining. He met and married the love of his life, Sandra Peak, on July 9, 1983, and his spirit became even more obvious. He was truly dedicated to Sandra. When she was in school, he would drive her to class and wait in the lobby until she finished, then drive her back home. One of Jerry and Sandra's favorite pastimes was fishing. Their idea of a relaxing vacation was fishing on Moss Lake, in their boat or traveling to Florida or the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Jerry was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. He served as a trustee and was later ordained as a deacon, on Jan.19, 2003. He worked tirelessly in both of these capacities and would often assume other duties to make sure the operations of the church were in order. In addition, he worked with the homeless shelter and food ministries. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, of 27 years, Sandra Peak Beasley; a loving sister, Dr. Marion Beasley Davis (William) of Thomasville, Ga.; a brother, who admired and looked up to him, Gregory Beasley of Hampton, Va.;, one uncle, Joseph Beasley of Grover; sisters-in-law, Geneva Marshall (Ralph) and Doris Morris (Johnny) both of Baltimore, Md. and Carolyn Perry and Betty Bell (James) both of Shelby; two additional brother-in-laws, James Peak (Retha) and Walter Lockhart both of Shelby. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the church Funeral: 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church Burial: Sunset Cemetery Officiated by: Dr. Anthony Negbenebor Online Condolences: www.enloes.net
