ROSE EGLANTINE FIORE
Rose Eglantine Fiore, 89, died June 20, 2003. She was born on December 12, 1913 in New York City to Georges and Rosalia Spina Morales. She worked many years as a seamstress in New York City before retiring in 1970 and was a member of the ILGU (International Garment Workers Union). She was a feisty, independent and loving mother and grandmother, who faced challenges with courageous determination and a positive attitude. She was a longtime resident of Mt. Vernon and moved to Croton-on-Hudson in 1990. A year ago she moved to her daughter's home in Cortlandt Manor. On October 28, 1934, she married Anthony Fiore at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in New York City, he died in 1985. Mrs. Fiore is survived by a son Dr. Robert L. Fiore of Tucson, AZ, a daughter Angela M. Kelly of Cortlandt Manor, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Linda Mita and three sisters Patricia Morales, Carol Tackack and Angelina Shaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Family will receive friends at the E.O. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, 313 No. James St., Peekskill on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle.
