In memory of
Jonathan Simkovitz, 54 years old, died peacefully on May 21, 2010 after suffering a battle with a terminal brain disease. Jon was born in Detroit, MI and moved to California in 1989. He was a loving husband to Julie and father to Rachel and Joshua. In addition, he leaves behind his parents, Wilbert and Elsie Simkovitz, brothers Jack, Daniel, Bryan and sister, Debbie, and their families, and his in-laws, Sylvia and Philip Buckfire, Carol Benson, Kenneth Buckfire and their families. Jon was a graduate of Oak Park High School and Empire Law School and a veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces. Jon co-founded a local business, Solutions for Humans, which provided ergonomic solutions for preventing and accommodating disabilities of office workers. Jon was always adventurous, lively, witty, funny, intelligent, kind, artistic, outgoing and was a committed member of the Santa Rosa Jewish community. He was buried at Beit Shemish Cemetery outside of Jerusalem, Israel, on May 24. A Memorial Service for Jon, to celebrate his life and mourn his passing, is planned for June 2, at 7:00 p.m., at Congregation Beth Ami, 4676 Mayette Ave, Santa Rosa.
