Sam Pistone of Des Plaines Services for Sam Pistone, 78, will begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (two blocks South of Dundee), Wheeling, and proceed to St. Emily Church in Mount Prospect for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Born Jan. 6, 1931, in Chicago, he passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009. Sam was an Air Force veteran who worked in the auto repair and insurance industry for more than 40 years. He was an avid follower of auto racing and enjoyed golf, travel with his wife and family, and spending time in and around his treasured home life. Sam was the loving husband of Patricia (nee Clifford) for 51 years. He was the devoted son of the late Pietro and Rose Pistone; beloved father of Peter (Michele) Pistone, Terri (Gary) Schroeder, Rose (Jim) Breitzman, Gina (Matt) Borneman and Angela (Dave) Eddy; adoring grandfather of Natalie, Sam, Andrew, Mia, Rachel and Kate; loving brother of Lee Pistone, Tom (Crystal) Pistone, Petri (the late Ron) Flowers and the late Mary Pistone; and special uncle to many nieces and nephews.
