FLORENCE — M. Richard Morgan, 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Richard was born July 17, 1936 to the late Milford and Martha Biggs Morgan of Hallidayboro, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Betty Leek and a brother, Charles Morgan, both of Illinois. Surviving are his wife, Betsy McMillian Morgan of the home; daughter, Tammy (James) Seaward of Southern Illinois; sons, Richard (Carrie) Morgan and Todd (Toni) Morgan, both of Southern Illinois; step-son, Ron Lane of Florence; step-daughter, Tebie (Steve) Elgin of Florence; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, David Morgan of Illinois; five sisters, Mary Hathaway, Joyce Ellis, Rose Keller, Brenda Migonis, all of Illinois and Sue Hickman of Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Timmonsville First Baptist Church, 151 W. Byrd Street, Timmonsville, SC 29161. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 12, 2008 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel.
