In memory of
Susana Hurtado passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2019, at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. Susana was born to Gregorio and Juanita Teran on March 15, 1950, in Oxtotitlan Guerrero Mexico. Susana was the youngest of six children. In 1972, she married Serafin Hurtado and had three children, Serafin Hurtado Jr., Juanita Yanez and Fernando Hurtado. In 1975, she started working at Georgia Pacific lumber in Fort Bragg, California. She started working at Dana Gray Elementary in 1988 and retired in 2015. She was a great member of the community; Susana touched lives while working at Dana Gray for 27 years. She loved the children and the teachers. She will be remembered for making tortillas with the children and playing a mean game of basketball at recess. She is survived by her husband, Serafin Hurtado; son, Serafin Hurtado Jr., his wife, Chantarelle Hurtado; daughter, Juanita Yanez, her husband, Cesar Yanez; son, Fernando Hurtado, wife Kristi Hurtado-Saxon; grandchildren, Alex, Ryler, Andrew, Nathan, Alani, Kalin, Joshua, Matthew; and great-granddaughter, Harper Hurtado. She is also survived by her sister, Fermana Teran from Mexico, and by many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 900 N. Main St., Fort Bragg, followed by a graveside service at Rose Memorial Park then Pentecost Hall, 822 Stewart St., Fort Bragg.
