In memory of
Franklin A. Rader
Franklin A. Rader Goodlettsville - Franklin Anderson Rader, age 77, of Goodlettsville passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019. Frank grew up in South Nashville and graduated from Central High School. He joined the Nashville Fire Department in 1964 and proudly served as a Metro Nashville Firefighter for over 35 years before retiring in 2000 as a Battalion Chief. Frank never met a stranger, and he ferociously loved both his friends and his beloved family. He volunteered for his church, friends, and community as soon as he saw a need - not in a formal, organized, named capacity but immediately on the front lines without recognition because his love for others and his strong work ethic were his driving force. Simply put, Frank he was a real-life hero who always set a brilliant example of selflessness, generosity, loyalty, strength and how to live, laugh, and love every day with his whole heart. He was and always will be a shining beacon of light that will lead us all to be better people for as long as we live. He is preceded in death by his parents Bunyan and Frances Rader. He will be greatly missed by his adoring, loving, and beautiful wife Shirley of over 55 years, his son and daughter-in-law David and Beth Rader, and his three adoring grandchildren of whom he was so very proud - Anderson, Anna Kate, and Grace Rader. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19th 2019 from 1:00 until 3:00 at the Spring Hill Funeral Home located at 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville Tennessee, with a memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Nashville Humane Association.
