Barbara Sue Payne
Barbara Sue Hand Payne, 90, passed into Glory on May 24, 2019, in her home under hospice care. A private burial will be held Tuesday, May 28, with a memorial reception for family and friends at her home on Hwy 64 to follow at 11:30am. Sue was born in Tyler on May 12, 1929 and was a life long resident of the Dixie Community. Sue and her husband, were active in the rose growing community as well, having founded Lone Star Rose Nursery in 1951. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Payne. Sue is also preceded in death by her brother, Starley Hand and sister, Patricia Armstrong. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Huggins (Jim) of Richardson and her son, David Payne (Judy) of Tyler. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Fancher (Thomas), Nathan Payne (Katy), Jonathan Huggins, Jacob Payne (Tatiana), Adam Payne (Katie) and eight great-grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her brother, Ted Hand and her sister, Rosemary Dawsey.
