A memorial service will be held for Frances Tell at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Cedar Street Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Karen Jones officiating. Frances Lee Johnson Tell was born May 2, 1915 in Tyler, Texas. She was a life-long resident of Tyler, living elsewhere for only brief periods of time. She had been a member of Cedar Street Methodist Church since she was a child, where she also played the organ for over 60 years. She was a talented musician, playing the piano for many different places and events. She also enjoyed puzzles, games, crochet and needlepoint. Mrs. Tell passed away at the age of 103 in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Tell; parents, Pete L. Johnson and Clara L. Wills Johnson; and two brothers. Survivors include her children, Carol Guinette Tell and William E. Tell; niece/daughter, Deanna Gibson; three grandchildren, Richard Murphy Tell, Cindy Murphy Tell Meyers, Trina Nanette Tell French; five great-grandchildren, Thomas Tell, Christopher French, Katelyn French, Michael Tell and Ashley Morgan; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. If desired, memorials may be made to Cedar Street Methodist Church, 1420 N Church Ave, Tyler, TX 75702. A special thank you to Hospice of East Texas for their excellent, gentle care.
