William Harold Benard, 85, of McDonald, died Monday, August 5, 2019, in his home. He was born January 28, 1934, in McDonald, a son of the late Earnest Robert and Lillian Blanche Cox Benard. Mr. Benard was previously employed at Mayview and Western state hospitals as a caregiver. He enjoyed playing bingo and also learned to crochet. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Cattie Pearl Benard; children Toni Gale (Louis) Multunas of McDonald, William Vaughan Benard of Carnegie, Marcy Arlette Benard of McDonald, Alec Jon Benard of Washington and Lillian Aleene Benard of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Lilly Mae George and Chrissy Faye Bruce. He was preceded in death by five siblings. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald 724-926-2800, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 9.
