He battled multiple diseases and succumbed to complications from a stroke. Bill is survived by his loving wife Jackie Miller. They were married on September 12, 1953 and enjoyed 63 years full of adventures together. Until the moment he left this earth to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, she was the love of his life! Bill achieved the highest honor of Eagle Scout in the Sea Scout Organization and at age 12 began a lifelong hobby of collecting stamps. He loved classical music and sang with a beautiful tenor voice in school and church choirs. He was even in a barbershop quartet in college! He enjoyed traveling with Jackie and they ventured coast to coast many times to enjoy both oceans! He was a faithful friend to many, who describe him as warm, smart, funny, generous, and kind. His hearty, infectious laugh filled a room! Bill leaves a legacy of faith, hard work, and love to sons Brian Miller (wife Shawn) and Randy Miller (with Heidi); and daughter Lori Engelking (husband Ken). He was adored by his nine grandchildren and eight great-grand- children. He will be deeply missed. A celebration of life service is scheduled for January 10, 2017 at noon at Morning Star Community Church, 4775 27th Avenue SE, Salem, Oregon with a reception following. All are welcome! In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bill's memory to the Morning Star Community Church Benevolence Fund (if in Salem, OR.) or the Salmon Creek United Methodist Memorial Fund (if in Vancouver,WA.).
