GERTRUDE "TRUDIE" MARIE HASCALL April 7, 1919 ~ July 25, 2016 Our matriarch, Gertrude "Trudie" Marie Hascall, passed away peacefully Mon., July 25 in Vancouver, WA. She was born in Vancouver, April 7, 1919, to Frederich "Fritz" and Catherine Scheuch, and grew up in Portland, OR. While attending business college in Portland, Trudie met, then married the love of her life, Ernest Hascall. She was a loving mother to sons, Glen (Patricia), Marvin (Burnell), Loren (Pam) Hascall, and daughter, Janice (Bruce) Pirret. Trudie is survived by her children, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren (with another on the way). Her family was the joy of her life. A long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, she sang in the choir and was active in service groups. Trudie worked as a school secretary in the Vancouver School District, weathering the tornado at Peter Ogden Elementary and ending her career at Gaiser Middle School. She was an active member and officer of the PTA and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Ernest; and her brother, Werner Scheuch. Final interment will be at Riverside Abbey in Portland, OR, beside Ernie. There will be a celebration of her life on Sun., Aug. 28th at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Vancouver.
