Edward A. "Ed" Zurfluh
Edward "Ed" A. Zurfluh Our Beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend passed away with his loving wife, Sis, of 59 years by his side. He was born February 26, 1926 in Tacoma, WA and passed away February 12, 2011 at his home in Monroe, WA. Ed grew up in Everett, WA and attended Everett High School. He graduated in 1947. Ed had a love for sports, especially football, he played on the Trojan football team, that was nominated in 2010 for the induction to NWAACC Hall of Fame. In 1951 he met the love of his life, Sis. They married on February 14, 1952. In 1955 they moved to a small farm on Ben Howard Road in Monroe, WA. Ed was in "Hog Heaven", he was able to bring horses back into his life on the farm. He became a 4H leader and raised Quarter horses. Ed worked at Scott Paper Company for 11 years. In 1965 he left the farm to move up to the IOOF Cemetery in Monroe, WA to become the caretaker. In 1973 Ed moved into the hardware business, went into partnership with Bill Bump, they opened B&E Hardware in Monroe, WA. In 1983 Ed decided to move on again and opened Ed's True Value in Sultan, WA with his family. Ed retired in 2000 and the hardware store closed in 2006. Ed was kind hearted and loved by all. Our lives will never be the same without him. He leaves behind wife, Aloha (Sis); daughters, Cathy (Chuck) Blacker, Cheryl Blair, Connie (Mike) Williams and Carol Manni; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kerrie (Tito) Gonzalez and their children, Alyson and Nickolas, Shane Williams and his children, Isabella and Kiriana, Joey (Candice) Blair and their child, Kyleigh, Charlie Blacker, Tyler Blair, Connie Dawn Blair, Carl Blacker, Codi Manni, Heidi (Bill) Kullman and baby boy, Dartanian, Randy Woolery and his children, Sean and Sammy; also many nieces and nephews. Ed was recently preceded in death, by his son-in-law, Larri Manni. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 25 at the Monroe United Methodist Church, a reception will be following the service.
