In memory of
Lois Mansfield Deller
Lois Mansfield Deller Lois Mansfield Deller was born on January 17, 1926, in Lynn, Massachusetts, and died on November 28, 2009, in Everett, WA, surrounded by her family. She was the second daughter of Robert and Marian Mansfield and spent her childhood in Swampscott, MA. She attended Edgewood Park College and spent the early years of her career working in Boston. Her closest childhood friend, Jack Corcoran, introduced Lois to William Deller who was in his World War II flight squadron in the Pacific campaign. Bill spotted a picture of Lois on Jack's foot locker in the barracks, and asked him if he could write her letters. Jack agreed as long as he could censor them. They fell in love and married in Swampscott on July 15, 1946. After a few coast to coast moves, they settled in Everett to raise their family. Lois maintained her New England heritage with her accent, décor, properness and stories. Although she later adopted the Seattle Mariners, she remained a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. Throughout her life you would hear Lois say "pawk the caw in the Hawvawd yawd," with a big smile on her face. For many years, Lois worked for the Everett School District administration retiring in 1982. She loved to travel and had many memorable journeys to Europe, Hawaii, New England and her favorite city, Quebec. Throughout her life she maintained close relationships with her friends from the school district, church and the "old neighborhood" in View Ridge. But her family was her soul and the holidays were the centerpiece for gatherings. She was a devout Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Everett. Lois was preceded in her death by her son, Steve. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bill; sister, Elaine Mansfield Hastings; sons, John Deller (Monaree), and Mike Deller (Cathy); and daughter, Patti Ingalls; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Everett, 1616 Pacific Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Everett Community College Foundation for student scholarships.
