Audrey Jane Illick Wolfe
Audrey Jane Wolfe FORKS TOWNSHIP Audrey Jane Illick Wolfe, 89, of Forks Township, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019. Born Feb. 5, 1930, in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Minerva (Daub) Illick. She and her husband, Thomas W. Wolfe, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 2, 2019. After graduating Easton High School in 1947, Audrey worked at the former Easton Express for 10 years. She had also worked at radio stations WEEX and WQQQ, the former S & H Redemption Center, the former Nazareth National Bank, Easton Area School District, and First Moravian Church. She was a notary public for 29 years. Audrey loved crocheting, needlepoint and crafts, and most importantly being a homemaker. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and the arts, supporting Zoellner Arts Center and DeSales University Theatre, and volunteering at Musikfest for 27 years, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, and as docents at the Lunckenbach Mill Gallery. Audrey also did volunteer work for the chaplaincy program at Easton Hospital, numerous PTAs, the Easton High Band Boosters and Moravian Academy. She performed before audiences since age five. She was a charter member of the Express Glee Club, which later became the Chansonette Theatre. She was also a member of the Savvy Seniors and Ambassador Club. Audrey was a member of First Moravian Church, where she was office secretary, financial secretary, past sacristan and worked fundraisers. She had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Southside Easton, where she had been a Sunday school and VBS teacher and director, newsletter co-editor, bi-centennial director, and president and district chairwoman of the Lutheran Church Women. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Tom, are two sons, Barry Wolfe and his wife, Leslie, of Easton, and Gregory Wolfe and his wife, Lee, of Lansdale, and two granddaughters, Lauren and Jessica Wolfe. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
