Patricia A. Cruver BANGOR Patricia A. Cruver, 94, of Bangor, passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at the Slate Belt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center ,Bangor. Patricia was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Bangor, Maine, to the late Ernest and Hildred (Oxley) Yerxa. Patricia met her husband to be, Jay W. Cruver, while serving in Maine in the US Navy during World War II. The beauty of Jay, who was from Bangor, PA, meeting Patricia, who was from Bangor, Maine, was often cherished by her family. They were married for 53 years until his passing in 1998. Patricia was a wonderful mother. She was quiet, kind, and loved the family gatherings in her backyard. She was very religious, patriotic and loved singing God Bless America. Pat was a self-taught artist, who loved to sketch birds and animals. Patricia developed a unique style of painting with toothpicks and oils. Pat loved animals of all kinds and loved to visit her home state of Maine to see the Portland Headlight and watch the waves crash into the coast at Bar Harbor. She never lost her Maine accent or her independent personality and moral character. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie J. LaBar of Bangor, Sandra Blau and her husband Marc of Mt. Bethel, and Melissa Van Buskirk and fiancé Billy Walbert; son, Barry Cruver and his wife Sharon of Carlisle, PA; grandchildren, Gregg LaBar, Cathy Portz, Barry Jr. and June Cruver, Jeff, Jennifer and Jessica Cruver; great-grandchildren, Tim and Lauren LaBar, Katie LaBar, Brent and Landrie Portz, Sarah Portz, Joey Uliana, Kristen and Erica Cruver; and great-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Logan Uliana. She was predeceased by brothers, Vaughn and George Yerxa; and her son-in-law, Ronald LaBar. Family and friends may call on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, with services at 12 noon, with Rev. Ronald Shipman officiating, in the Fiore Funeral Home, fiorefuneralhome.com , 230 Market St., Bangor, PA 18013. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Bangor.
