Ann M. ((Hughes)) Bunting
Ann M. (Hughes) Bunting, 95, of East Hartford, wife of the late Roy Bunting, died Friday (July 6, 2001) at an area convalescent home. Ann was born Nov. 4, 1906 in Naugatuck, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ellen (Burke) Hughes and had resided in East Hartford for 60 years. Ann was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, East Hartford and was past president of the St. Mary's Ladies Guild, a substitute teacher at the St. Mary's School, and was an officer in the Daughters of Isabella, of the church. A talented and gifted singer Ann was a featured singer at many social affairs in the area. She was also a member of the East Hartford Democratic Women's Club. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Bill Colson of East Windsor; a son, Dr. Charles T. Bunting of Edgewater, FL; three grandchildren, Janice E. MacDonald, Roy W. Colson, Charles A. Bunting; two great granddaughters, Megan and Karina. Besides her husband and parents, Ann was predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Father Joseph Hughes, and Raymond Hughes and a sister, Alyce Lindahl. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:15 a.m. from Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St., East Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, East Hartford. A graveside service will take place Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. The family will receive friends for a calling hour period at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
