Memorial Services for Bobby W. Cate, 87, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, July 24th, at 2:00 p.m. at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.  Burial will be August 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, in Republic, Missouri, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home-South. Bobby passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Tyler, TX. Bobby was born August 5, 1933 in Streetman, TX to Rufus Earle "Jack" Cate and Ruby Cate Mathis. As a veteran, Bobby served both in the Army and the Air Force.  After returning to the states, Bobby married Loretta Crouch in 1958.  After living in Texas for several years, Bobby and Loretta made Springfield, MO their home in 1973.  Bobby enjoyed a successful career as an Over-the-Road Truck Driver for Roadway Express with numerous safety awards.  Retirement gave Bobby time to enjoy family and friends along with trips to Casinos and Silver Dollar City. Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Loretta Cate and 2 daughters, Patsy Ann Cate Hall and Linda Jean Cate. Also by a grandson, Dustin Swaim. Bobby is survived by daughter, Debbie (Enrique) Garza; son, Alan Cate; and son, Roy (Wana) Crouch.  Grandpa Bobby will be fondly remembered by his 8 grandchildren: Jeremy (Alisha) Crouch, Michael (Natalie) Carroll, Chrissy (Doug) Nelson, Casey (Charles) Praytor, Josh (April) Cate, Keri (Josh) Jarvis, Brandy Cate, and Aaron (Christy) Woods; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
