Laura Dunaway passed away peacefully on June 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 68. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 3, 1952 to her loving parents, Norma Carollo and the late Victor Carollo. Laura was a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to Glenn Dunaway; cherished mother of Glenn "Bucky" Dunaway Jr. (Lauren) and Joey Dunaway (Ami); proud grandmother, affectionately called "Maw," to Tallulah Raye, Norma-Jane Dunaway, Glenn "Buck" Dunaway III, and Rylan Jack Dunaway; and sister of Vicki Morton, Frankie Carollo, and the late Russell Carollo. Laura attended and graduated from St. Scholastica High School in 1970. She was a successful business owner and entrepreneur for over 46 years. Laura will be remembered by most for her strong work ethics. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church where she enjoyed teaching CCD for many years. Above all, Laura's family was her most prized accomplishment. She was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother to a very thankful family that she created. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell. A Funeral Mass officiated by Father Thomas Kilasara will begin at noon. Laura will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery Slidell at a private burial.
