In memory of
George Junior Harness, age 61, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center. George was born on June 23, 1959 in Somerset to Hazel Hodge Mosley and the late George Eldon Harness. He was a mechanic for Gary Harness and a truck driver for Junior Foster and Donnie Shakelford. George enjoyed drag racing, four wheeling, fishing and gardening. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Hazel Hodge Mosley; one daughter, Carrie (and Rob) Harness; one step-daughter, Tonya Cook; five sisters, Lila (and James) Denney, Connie Harness Thompson and Ellie Harness (and Bart) Williams, Angie (and Tony) Smith and Marsha (and Mike) Oney; eight brothers, Charles “Butch” Wesley, Raymond “Chuck” (and Daphne) Wesley, Lee “Socket” (and Kendra) Wesley and Donnie “Shack” Shakelford(Angela) Gary Harness(Regina) Norman Harness, Gerald Harness, and Ben Garland (Wanda); grandchildren, Brianna Nicholas, Summer Day Nicholas, Phillip Rollind Nicholas, Michael Cook, Parker Phillip Frasure and Kayla Elliott; four nieces, Candice (and Jason) Gibson, Megan Denney and Rachel Denney and Kenzie Williams; one nephew, Matthew (and Katie) Thompson; and Gary Harness who was like a brother to him. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Russell “Rusty” Harness; two grandchildren, Mariah Nicholas and James Elliott; and Ruth Ann Wesley who was like a mother to him, and his grandparents Phillip and Lila Harness. A Private Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the George Harness Memorial Fund to help assist with his funeral expenses.
