Services for Frances T. “Mammy” Dickerson, 88, of Tyler, will be held on May, 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit with Dale Wilt officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Frances passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Homeplace Hospice of East Texas. Frances was born January 16 th , 1933 in Tyler to Lottie Hanson. She was married to William M. “Pappy” Dickerson for 45 years.  She retired from TISD after 20 plus years in food service.  She enjoyed doing several things throughout her life such crossword puzzles, sewing, upholstering furniture, and starting every morning with a bible passage and cup of coffee. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie and Jim Hanson, her husband William M. “Pappy” Dickerson, her children Leslie Knight, Marsha Kruz, and Joyce Fairchild, and her granddaughter  Marla Swank, and her lifelong friend Dorothy Fleming. Frances is survived by her children and their spouses, Llawana and Darren Taylor of Troup, Lynn and Tommy Hilton of Palestine, Jack and Robin Dickerson of Whitehouse, Alton and Leah Dickerson of Tyler. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chad Hudson, Damon Hudson, Blake Larmon, Dalton Dickerson, Austin Dickerson, and Wesley Dickerson. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
