Graveside services for Willie Joe Johnson, 96, of Tyler, will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Bascom Cemetery with Walter Jones officiating, under the direction of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Willie passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Tyler. He was born April 28, 1924 in Montalba to Willie A. and Josie D. Dehay Johnson. Willie was a welder and worked for J. B. Sedberry.  He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Palestine. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Lorene Johnson and second wife, Katherine Johnson; brother, Theo Johnson and sister, Carol Bolt. Willie is survived by son, Ronnie J. Johnson; daughters, Sandra Johnson and Billie Jones; brother, Harold Johnson and sister Nancy Matthews; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
