In memory of
Linda Kaye Bauer
Our beloved Mother, Linda Kaye Bauer, passed peacefully from this life Friday, April 23, 2021, with her children by her side. Linda was born November 24, 1947, in Rexburg Idaho. She was born to Rhea Pfost and Melvin Beattie. Her parents divorced, and her Mom remarried Loren Oviatt, who became a father figure in her life. Linda grew up with her brother, Wayne, and stepsister, Linda Raye. Mom was raised in St. Anthony and attended Lincoln and Central Schools and graduated from South Fremont High school in 1966. Linda loved and did well in school and was part of the Drill Team at South Fremont High School, serving as the Drill Master. While attending school in St. Anthony, she met a young man that wore white t-shirts, rolled up jeans and loved to work on hot rods. The young man that had made such an impression on her at the time was Ronald Dean Bauer of Wilford, Idaho. They were married on September 30, 1966, and made their home in St. Anthony. Linda and Ronnie welcomed three children: Jared, Ronnalyn and Jake. Ronnie was an auto mechanic at Frome Motors in St. Anthony, and Linda worked early on as a cashier at Laters Market. When her children were school age, Linda began an extensive career as secretary within the Special Services Office of School District 215. She loved her work and made many lifelong friends through her work associations. She retired from the school district after working more than 20 years. Weekends and vacations where invariably spent camping, fishing, snowmobiling and other outdoor activities. Linda and Ronnie loved the outdoors and instilled that same love in their children from an early age. Linda and Ronnie were truly "soul mates" and possessed a very deep love for each other throughout their lives. Linda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in a variety of callings in both the St. Anthony 1st and 3rd Wards. Later in life, Linda became a temple patron and loved serving in the temple. Her faith and testimony grew tremendously over time as she dealt with various trials. Linda was always able to keep an eternal perspective on events in her life through her knowledge of the gospel. Linda was a tremendous daughter, wife and mother. She loved her family dearly and was fiercely dedicated to them. She adored being a grandmother to her six grandchildren. They were her joy, and she loved spending time with them and being part of their lives. Linda was a friend to all, garnering a significantly large number of very close friends throughout her life that she loved as family. If Linda became your friend, she was your friend for life. Jared and Ronnalyn would like to give special thanks to these friends that were extremely loyal to Linda throughout the later part of her life. May God bless you all for your sacrifices on her behalf. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Jake; and many extended family members. She is survived by her two children, Jared J. (Sheri) Bauer, Star, Idaho; and RonnaLyn (Blake) Bartlett, Wilford Idaho; her grandchildren: Reiley Bauer, Elder Thomas Bauer (Michigan Detroit LDS Mission), Clara Bauer, Mylie Bartlett, Luke Bauer and Nickolas Bauer; her stepsister, Linda Raye; and numerous family members whom she loved dearly. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center, 247 East 4th North. The family will receive friends April 28th, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 East 1st North, St. Anthony, and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at The Homestead in St. Anthony, Idaho, for their kindness, love and compassion as they cared for our Mom. The funeral will be live streamed and a link may be found on the obituary at www.flammfh.com where friends may also leave their condolences for the family.
