In memory of
Linda Durham Hruska
Linda Durham Hruska March 14, 1948 - January 14, 2021 Middleton, Idaho - Linda Durham Hruska, 72, of Middleton, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her home. Linda was born March 14, 1948, the first of four girls, to Ray and Lucille Durham. She grew up in Boise and attended Koelsch Elementary, West Jr. High, and Borah High School, with brief stints at Capital and Meridian, graduating in 1966. While a senior in high school, she met John Frazier. Over the next two years, Linda attended school at ISU in Pocatello and John was sent to Vietnam, but they kept in touch and were reunited in the spring of 1968. By October they were married. They started their life together by venturing out to California where they welcomed the first of their two daughters. Returning to Idaho in the spring of 1970, she took computer classes at BSU and went to work for the state. Soon their second daughter completed their little family. Each spring, Linda would take road trips to California to visit her beloved Grandma and Grandpa Morfitt - just her, her girls, and a lot of ABBA and Tony Orlando and Dawn on repeat. And the occasional hitchhiker (don't tell—I was sworn to secrecy!) She had a big heart, and a love of 70's music and adventure. In the early 80's, she joined the Army National Guard. When she later transferred to the Army Reserve, Larry Hruska was the administrator who processed her into the unit. Upon meeting Linda, he was infatuated. Linda and Larry just celebrated thirty years of marriage on December 31, 2020. With Larry, she saw a bit more of the world, living in various states as he was moved around for the Army. They also traveled for fun on cruises and to exciting vacation spots. She especially enjoyed Mazatlan, Mexico. Linda did a lot of volunteer work, as well. She worked with the Friends of Middleton Library, she and Larry volunteered at the Middleton Food Pantry, and she worked with the spay and neuter program. She loved the cats with all her heart. She also found happiness in helping pull together her class reunions, and according to some she was gifted at finding missing classmates. Linda is survived by her husband, Larry Hruska; sisters, Cheryl Hall and Barbara (Pat) Vaughn; daughters, Michelle (Tim) and Renee (Kevin); bonus daughters, Loree (Rob) and Angie; grandchildren: Kendyn, Mitch, Tim, Drew, Karah, Rilee, Sebastian, Andrew, Breanna, Macee, and Kaden; nieces and a nephew, all of whom she absolutely adored; and her longtime friend, Joanna Marshall. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lucille Durham; and a sister, Celia Durham. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Conrad Strays or Happy Jack Cats. "We had joy, we had fun, we had Seasons in the Sun." Arrangements are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
