David DeVries Harrisburg - David DeVries, 76, of Harrisburg, died Friday morning, Jan. 1, 2021, at the Sanford Centennial Hospice Cottage, Sioux Falls, following a short battle with cancer. He was born in 1944 in Orange City, IA. He grew up near Beaver Creek and graduated from Beaver Creek High. In 1965 he married Patsy Knock. The couple lived in Sioux Falls until moving to their farm near Harrisburg in 1970. In addition to farming and raising sheep, David worked for Horner Box, Zip Feeds and in 1974 began a 35 year career with Golden Sun Feeds. Survivors: wife Patsy, children: Darin (Amy) DeVries, Brian (Kristen) DeVries, and Shari (Troy) Pierret all of Sioux Falls; six grandchildren; siblings: Bob (Muriel) DeVries, Sioux Falls and Phyllis (Jay) Lunstra, Valley Springs. Due to health concerns, private immediate family services will be held, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5 at Delaware Reformed Church rural Lennox. The service will be live streamed via Delaware Church website. The family requests memorials to charity in lieu of flowers.
