In memory of
Bernice Spears Griffin
Bernice went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 25th at the age of 91, surrounded by her family on her sun porch. She was born in Lufkin Tx to Roy and Minnie  Spears.  She graduated from Orange High School and later married Marshall Griffin in Houston, Tx.  They moved to Tyler in 1962 and raised their 4 children on "Griffin Hill" in Chapel Hill. Bernice was a loan officer at Teachers Credit Union and manager of  United Credit Union.  Her last "job" and probably the most loved was volunteering at Hospice of East Texas.  They were her extended family that she loved and the feeling was mutual! She loved living in the middle of her grandkids and always had cookies ready for their many visits.  Later the plan was the same but for great grandchildren!  Her loves were in this order:  her Lord, her family, her church and Chick-fil-A!  She loved working in her yard and was known to do so early  in the morning in later years, since she had been "encouraged" not to! She is survived by her children Debra Martin, David Griffin, Genie & Roy Chapman, Donna & Keith Youngblood.  Her grands Roger, Debbie K, Deanna & James, Sam & Katie, Jeffrey & Candace, Josh & Shelly, Jonathan & Amy, Jared & Courtni, Cole & Danielle  and 16 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by brothers  Robert and David Sharp  and sister, Pat Matthews and her beloved Aunt Doris Bell.  Bernice  was preceded in death by husband, Marshall Griffin, mother, Minnie Ola Sharp, brothers Leon and Dick Sharp and her  beloved granddaughter,  Cameron Griffin and daughter-in-law, Susan Griffin. Honored to be her pallbearers are grandsons,  Roger Chapman, Sam Martin, Jeffrey Youngblood, Josh Youngblood, Jonathan Chapman, Jared Youngblood, Cole Griffin and great  grandson Dillon Melton.
