Cleo Vivian Schuler
Cleo (Pat) Vivian Schuler, 88, of Tyler, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at East Texas Medical Center, Tyler, Texas.  She was born on July 27, 1932 in Kenedy, Texas to Palmer and Bessie Lee Brubaker. She is preceded in death by her husband John Schuler, her sister Juanita Donoho, brothers Stanley Brubaker, John Edward Brubaker, and Winfield Brubaker.  She is survived by daughter Denise Billings and son-in-law Mervin R. (Butch) Billings of Katy, Texas; daughter Valerie Ford and son-in-law Henry Ford of Tyler.  She was also blessed with three grandchildren, their spouses, and 5 great-grandchildren:  Travis Ford, his wife Brandy and daughter Makenzie; Wayne Ford, his wife Cristen, and sons Austin and Kyle; and Erica Seal, her husband Justin, and daughters Lanie and Emily. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1949 and then received a diploma from Draughons Practical Business College in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Throughout her life she held the office positions of switchboard operator, receptionist, secretary, bookkeeper, and personal assistant. Mom loved camping, hiking, and gardening, but her favorite outdoor activity was fishing.  She spent many happy days fishing lakes and ponds with friends and family in the Tyler area. She also treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved to cook.  Her family especially looked forward to delicious holiday meals of turkey and dressing, and pecan pie. She was an avid reader and passed her love of books onto her daughters. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2020 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
