Robert Allen Cook Germantown - Robert Allen Cook, 96, passed away in peace July 22, 2020, at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital Germantown. He was born in Memphis on July 14, 1924, to the late Allen Gideon Cook and Louise Hooper Cook. Robert graduated with the first class of Treadwell High School. He was a submariner on the USS Flasher, one of the most successful submarines during WWII. He managed the production of orthopedic equipment at Wright Manufacturing Company and later was co-owner of King Manufacturing. His children affirm he was a good man of strong character, forged during the Depression by hardship and discipline. He grew up in an era when work was sought and valued, church and faith guided daily life, and honorable behavior was expected. Honesty and integrity, obeying the law, and doing the right thing was never a question. He is survived by daughters Evelyn Mosley (Phil) and Barbara Presley (Paul), both of Germantown; son Robert Allen Cook, Jr. of Spokane, WA; 8 grandchildren, Kally Wenzel (Jim), Cameron Mosley (Stephanie), Jesi Cook-Wright (Jonathan), Todd Mosley (Ashley), Delena Cook (Tere'e Johnson), Dallas Cook, Will Presley (Emily Berkey); and 13 great-grandchildren, and two nieces and one nephew. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Juanita Turberville Cook, his wife of 44 years, and Jane Witherington Cook, his wife of 17 years; sisters Helen C. Erikson and Ruth C. Rector; son Leonard Cook; and grandson Matthew Presley. The family wishes to give special thanks to The Village at Germantown Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing as well as Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital ER and ICU nurses and staff. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown on Elvis Presley Blvd.
