Wade Nolan Lilly
Wade Nolen Lilly, 93, of Tyler passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020. He was born July 20, 1926 in Smith County at Elberta south of Tyler. Wade was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Clara Lilly, an infant brother John Lilly, two sisters Lucy Deen and Mildred Lilly and a son Rolen Lilly. Wade was married to Evelyn Jeffus Lilly for 62 years. Evelyn died in 2012. Papa (as he was known by his family) graduated from Tyler High School class of 1944. Papa and his twin brother Willie joined the Army after graduation and were stationed in Hawaii. After the Army he worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co and retired after 36 years of service. He was an avid deer hunter and loved his many trips to the Hill Country. Papa was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Papa is survived by his brothers, Paul Lilly and wife Theresa, Willie Lilly and wife Virginia; sons, Bud Lilly and wife Debbie, Kent Lilly and wife Jan; grandchildren, Ryan Lilly and wife Mindy, Amanda Goodpasture and husband TJ, Zach Lilly and wife Rachel and one great granddaughter, Leah Lilly. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. On Friday, July 10, 2020 there will be an open viewing from 2-4 pm at Jackson's  Burks-Walker Tippit Funeral Home . A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Meador Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of the Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
