Alma J. Artis November 18, 1926 - June 12, 2020 MIDWEST CITY Alma Jean Springer Artis was born in Seminole County, Oklahoma, on November 18, 1926 and went home to be with Jesus in Midwest City, OK on June 12, 2020 at the age of 93. Alma was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Springer and Maud States Springer. She attended Garden Grove and Centerview High Schools and graduated from the St. Anthony School of Nursing in February 1948. She retired from nursing at Good Samartian Hospital in San Jose, CA in September 1987 after working almost 40 years as an RN. She married Everette W. Artis on January 28, 1951, who preceded her in death in August 2000. She was a member of Country Estates Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, her parents, four sisters and two brothers, and three brothers-in-law. She is survived by her nieces, Debbie Trammell (Jim), Midwest City, OK, Linda Morphis (Larry), Midwest City, OK, Vicki White, Prague, OK, Paulette (Tom) Pera, and Susan Artis, Santa Cruz, CA; nephews, Greg Springer, Edmond, OK, Paul Springer (Molly), Argyle, TX, Carl Springer, Jr., Kent Springer, James Springer, and many great/great great nieces and nephews as well as cousins and many wonderful friends. Special thanks to Care Plus Home Care for the wonderful care given to Aunt Alma the past eight years and a special thank you to her caregivers (Angela, Kimberly, Vanessa, and Zelma,) and a very special thank you to Hospice Quality in Midwest City for the wonderful care she received during her final days. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020, 12:30 p.m. at Garden Grove Cemetery, Prague, OK with Rev. Steve Holland officiating. In lieu of flowers, you can make a contribution to: Country Estates Baptist Church Building Fund, 1000 S. Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, OK 73110.
