Pamela Jean Wilson
Pamela Jean Walker Wilson of Tyler, Texas, passed away on June 8, 2020, after a long illness. Pam was born in Hannibal, Missouri, on July 24, 1945, to Raymond Walker and Helen Sparrow Walker Brustad. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Bernie Brustad; stepmother, Madge Kelly Walker; and her beloved Gramma, Clara Sparrow. Pam grew up in Anaheim, California, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in German and a postgraduate teaching certificate from Cal State Fullerton. One of her fondest memories was working at Disneyland in California. After moving to Conway, Arkansas, in 1980, she embarked on a long career in research and technical writing, with many happy years spent in public television with her friends at AETN (now Arkansas PBS). In retirement, Pam loved writing, research, playing with her cats, and Bible study. Most of all, she adored being Grammy Pammy to Haddie and Huck Foshe. Left to cherish Pam’s memory are her twin daughters, Michele (Jim) Vaughn and Heather (Erin) Wilson; goddaughter Rachel (Tony) Foshe; and Haddie and Huck Foshe. She will be missed by a wealth of family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to her longtime home health nurse, JB Berringer, and to the nursing staffs at Christus Mother Frances, UT Health Tyler, and Hospice of East Texas. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date due to COVID-19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
