L. E. Brewer Jr. April 5, 1928 - May 21, 2020 MOORE L.E. "Hooter" Brewer Jr., of Moore, OK, passed away on May 21, 2020, at the age of 92. He was born April 5, 1928, in Oklahoma City to L.E. Brewer Sr. and Lorene (Atkinson) Bowman. Hooter enjoyed mowing and gardening. He loved music, especially the big band era. He also played the piano. Hooter loved motorcycles. He felt that physical fitness was very important and was an avid weight lifter and runner. He loved comedy and watched Jonathan Winters. Hooter was an athlete in high school and college. He played football and was All-State for Central State and also ran track. Hooter was a retired school teacher, coach, principal and school bus driver. He was also a retired Senior Loadmaster Sergeant and was in the National Guard and Air Force. Hooter was married for 70 years to Emmalu Shaw Brewer and was devoted to her care in the final years of her life. Hooter is survived by his brother, Johnny Brewer; sister-in-law, Jan Black and spouse Steve Black; his children, Paul Brewer and spouse Robin Connell, Dan Brewer and friend Beverly Grose, and Layne McGee and spouse Jason McGee; grandchildren, Jeremy Brewer, Matthew Brewer and spouse Jana, Amy Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Benny Brewer, and Jennifer Jiron; great-grandchildren, Korbin Brewer and Brooklin Brewer; his nieces and nephews, Robin Thompson and spouse Brian Thompson, Charlie Black and spouse Marci, Jimmy Black, Cinda Viles and spouse Phillip Viles, Stephanie Shaw, Tim Shaw and spouse Cheri Shaw; and special friends, Cris Nichols, Carol Smith, and Allison Brewer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emmalu Brewer; parents, L.E. Brewer and Lorene Bowman; and his brother, Mike Brewer. Funeral will be a private family burial due to COVID-19. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Donations can be sent to St. Jude Hospital and Habitat for Humanity.
