Betty Jeanne Chavalia
Betty Jeanne Chavalia, (nee Klinect) 92 years old of Elyria, Ohio passed away on May 13, 2020 at O’Neill Health Care in North Ridgeville, Ohio.   Betty was born on March 29, 1928 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County.  She was employed as a secretary for Elyria Savings and Trust, retiring in 1988.  She loved quilting, crocheting, reading, and square dancing with her husband at the Columbia Ballroom.  She was active with the former Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton.  She especially loved her family and friends.   Surviving her are five children, Howard (Dawn) Chavalia, Luanne Chavalia and Dale (Marcie) Chavalia all of Elyria, Raymond (Lisa) Ringgold of GA., and Brian (Sara) Chavalia of Grafton; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Chavalia in 2010; two grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Klinect, and her parents, Howard and Freda (nee Robson) Klinect.   Private funeral services will be held for the family with Reverend Tom Keller of Faith Christian Church officiating.
