Sharon M. Vietzen
Sharon M. Vietzen (nee McCarthy), 77 years old of Elyria passed away surrounded by her family and her beloved dog, Onyx at her home on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 following a long illness.   Sharon was born on April 13, 1943 in Oberlin and lived in Elyria most of her life. Throughout her life she had many jobs, but the one job she cherished the most was being a beloved "mum-mum" to Tara, Will and Aidan.  She was a member of the Elyria Eagles # 431 and enjoyed fishing, bingo, casinos and especially time with family and friends.   Surviving her are three daughters, Mary Ann O’Donnell (Bernard), Kathleen Mezlak (Terry Evans), and Erin Stefek (John) all of Elyria;  grandchildren, Brett Vietzen, Abbey O’Donnell, Lauren Stefek, Scott and Jackie; one sister, Kathleen  McCarthy Zacharias (Zach) of Toledo; and her dearest friend of over 60 years, Janice Serfozo.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Vietzen, Sr. in 2014; a brother, Dennis McCarthy; and her parents, Gerald and Charlotte (nee Powers) McCarthy.   A special thank you to her three daughters, especially Kathleen Mezlak and to Hospice of Western Reserve for the exceptional care they provided.   A private family burial will take place.   To sign the guest book or to leave an online condolence please visit www.reichlinroberts.com .
