Roland "Gil" Curtis Gilbert
Roland "Gil" Curtis Gilbert, 89, from Lakewood, Ohio, passed away on May 10, 2020. He was born in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, August 2, 1930. He graduated from University School and Culver Military Academy. He attended William and Mary College and Ohio Wesleyan University. He served in the Signal Corp. as a Cryptographer, decoding messages during the Korean War. Gil went on to be president of Consolidated Adhesives, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and later served as Business Manager of Old Trail School in Bath, Ohio. He was married to Mary "Donnie" Donald Spotts on June 12, 1954, and was a loving, devoted husband for 66 years. They had three daughters and went on to create a loving home, full of music, fun and faith. Gil is survived by his wife, Donnie; daughters, Chris Bonnis (Al Bonnis), Ann Gilbert, Sue Krizman (Scott Krizman); grandchildren, Andrew Bonnis (Christine King), Rowe Bonnis, Thomas Krizman and Cameron Krizman; sister, Gretchen Nyland; and sister-in-law, Margot Gilbert. He was preceded in death by brothers - Grant Gilbert (Janet), Jack Gilbert (Sophie) and Wayne Gilbert. Look out boys, here he comes! A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. Inurnment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The family suggests that memorials may be made in Roland's name to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O.
