Marguerite P. Deardorff
Marguerite P. Deardorff , 94, formerly of Dillsburg, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at the Country Meadows Assisted Living, Mechanicsburg.   She was born November 15, 1924, in Dillsburg the daughter of the late William G. and Mabel M. (Junkins) Garber.   Marguerite was the widow of Richard L. Deardorff.   She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse at Holy Spirit Hospital. Marguerite was a member of the Barrens United Lutheran Church and its Willing Workers, Farm Womens Group, the Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a former volunteer at the Dillsburg Library.    She is survived by one daughter, Susan E. Scott (Michael) of Plano, TX; three sons, Duane R. Deardorff (Bonnie) of Morristown, TN, Karl M. Deardorff (Linda) of Camp Hill, Kevan L. Deardorff (Earlyn) of Dover; two sisters, Betty Zimmerman of Mechanicsburg, Delores Whitcomb of Dillsburg; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marguerite was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney L. Deardorff and by a brother, Charles Garber.  Services will be held Monday, November 11, 2019, at 2:00 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A visitation will be held Monday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Barrens Salem Union Cemetery, Dillsburg.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barrens Salem Cemetery Assoc., c/o Elwood Myers, 1244 Bragtown Rd., Dillsburg, PA 17019 or the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2780 Heidlersburg Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
