John Charles "Charlie" Anderson, Sr. Smyrna - On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, Charlie Anderson, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 73. Charlie was born on April 13, 1946 in Nashville, TN to James and Martha (Johnson) Anderson. He met his beautiful wife at Marshall and Bruce Printing Company and six months later he and Susan Sullivan were married, which has lasted 48 years. They raised 2 children, Suzette and John Charles, Jr. Charlie was a 1965 graduate of Overton High School, later attended Marion Military Institute and Belmont University. He worked for the State of Tennessee as IT Support. He was given the nickname "Tuna Man" by those he worked with. He was an avid baseball fan, and loved the Atlanta Braves. He loved watching sports, but his favorite was watching his grandchildren play sports. He will be remembered as being a man that loved Jesus, his church, Parkway Baptist Church and his family. He was devoted to his family, always wanting them to have a good life. He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit and just being one of the nicest and friendliest people you could meet. Charlie was preceded in death by his father, James, and his mother, Martha; brother, Bill Anderson, brothers-in-law, Charles Batchelor and Leslie Smith; sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson; father-in-law, Keith Sullivan; mother-in-law, Rubye Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, Susan Sullivan Anderson; daughter, Suzette Anderson (Ron) Lucarini; son, John Charles (Racheal) Anderson, Jr.; sisters, Betty Smith and Martha Batchelor; brother, James P. Anderson, Jr. and his 6 grandchildren, Maddie, Josh, Lillie, Jake, Leo, Claire. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 22nd at the Parkway Baptist Church in Smyrna at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Shelby Hazzard officiating. Visitation with light refreshments will be two hours prior to the service. Donations may be sent to the Lighthouse Christian Camp, 205 Serenity Place, Smithville, TN 37166
