Charles Sutton Brunson Jr.
Charles Sutton Brunson, Jr. was called away on March 20, 2019, at the age of 93 while living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Charles was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Janice Wilkins Brunson; his parents, Charles and Alma Dean Brunson; and three siblings, Elizabeth Brunson White, Calvin Brunson, and Loraine Brunson North. Charles is survived by his two children, Charles Michael Brunson (Kathy) and Lisa Brunson McCaffrey (Douglas), six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Charles was born in Mobile, Alabama on May 17, 1925 and graduated from Murphy High School. In September 1943, at the age of eighteen, he was drafted into the Army Air Corps at the height of W.W.II. He proudly served three years in New Guinea and the Philippines. After the war, Charles completed aircraft training school. Charles worked in Civil Service for 40 years where he achieved the position of Director of Quality Assurance with the Navy Contract Administration Office. He was responsible for ensuring that all of the U.S. military aircrafts in Alabama, Georgia, and Northwest Florida were properly maintained and repaired. Upon retiring, Charles pursued his passion for painting and writing and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
